Gaskets are parts used to fill a space and / or prevent liquids or gases from entering or leaking out.
Gaskets can be made of different types of materials that deform more easily than the parts to be sealed, so that when clamped it provides the desired seal. Depending on the application, gaskets are made of, for example, plastic, rubber, cork, graphite, copper, paper, gasket plate or metals.
Gaskets can be divided into two large groups:
-Static seals; gaskets for parts that do not move with respect to each other.
-Dynamic seals; gaskets for passing parts.
